Strawberries

Mario made me the gift of "my garden" for Mother's Day. Among my treasured plants that he gave me, were my strawberries. I simply love them. My container of strawberries had many blossoms and a couple suckers! I knew I needed to transplant them right away for they were over crowded in their current pot, so I have been reading up on the best way to do so. I found out some hard news... I need to pinch off the blossoms :( My breed of strawberries is Evergreen (deceiving name for they produce fruit twice annually) must be pinched off for the first transplant so they can focus on becoming firmly rooted and then I will receive beautiful delicious berries twice annually hence forth! My heart ached as I pinched off all seven blossoms.snuff, snuff.

I am now soaking the suckers in water before transplanting them. It is great joy to have my hands in all that wonderful soil and planting.

Elizabeth and Marie told me about this amazing man Glenn Doman, who is the founder or Gentle Revolution, and oh my goodness, it has set me off on such a reading spree.

As a side note Glenn talks about how our children can be a gluten for knowledge and how we must restrain from letting them indulge too much. Well, I should have taken his advice for myself. I have not stopped reading his works or others people experiences. Now my head HURTS! I have learned so much and I have a real good idea about how I want to go about teaching toddler Elizabeth. But, all the same I should have taken Glenn's advise more to heart, I have taken so many Advil :) Even with this acknowledgement I still want to study about his methods more!

Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Cheese Cake

I have always been afraid to attempt to make cheese cake. It always seemed like some unachievable thing that only chefs and perfect women could make, but low and behold… its not! I found a great receipt online for Chocolate chip and Hazelnut Cheese Cake. Now grant it, it took FOUR trips to different stores and two days to make but I did IT! And even if I say so myself (which one should not do) it tasted great! I do not have the correct type of pan so I used pie pans and it worked out wonderfully because since pie pans are much more shallow I made to cakes instead of one J

It took two attempts at different stores but I was able to find "fresh" hazelnuts. I cut them into fourths and them chopped away, toasted them in the oven under boil and them "chopped" them in the food blender.

While visiting with Grandma Waunetta, Elizabeth found a new favorite... lotion.

It took a couple of (corrections) but she learned that lotion is for the face and hands, NOT for eating :P

Only this last week or so have we been able to put her hair into pony tails. You can find these great snag free colorful rubber bands at the dollar store, you get 500 for .99, which is good because it is very unlikely that you will ever use one more than once because they stretch too much OR the disappear...

Simple Joys

Today the weather with wind chill is 28 below and a light blowing snow.

My dear family is snuggled in their beds napping the afternoon away and I sit here drinking my cup of coffee. I feel like I should like tea more then coffee but alas, coffee wins. It is my comfort drink of choose, most of the time. I love this cup with yellow roses, it makes me happy.

Frozen cars and pipes

Yesterday we had frozen cars and water pipes. With wind chill it was 30 degrees BELOW freezing.

I keep the water pipes dripping at night time when it gets to cold but for some reason I never thought to leave them on in the daytime... opps. It was the facet in the bath tub that froze, thankfully Mario was able to unfreeze the pipe before any damage was done.

And I know that when it gets too cold out (30 Below is too cold) that I should go out and start up my car to keep the cold from killing my car. Well, I thought about it a couple times but never actually went outside to do that and in the morning when I was going to go to the doctor for a annual check up...

yeah you guest it, the car would not turn on. :( Once again Mario was able to fix it, but I felt so silly for not taking the precaution like I knew I should of.

Boulevard verses Pink Office

I work for a Mary Kay Director and I use Pink Office to organize her work. But I have been having a hard time with Pink Office, there are some glitches that are madding to me. So, I have been looking into switching my Mary Kay Director over to Boulevard. It costs some more, but I would spend less time working so she would truly save some serous money. But there is one main set back, and that it is a computer program not web software; so I could only work while I was at her computer or she would have to be willing to let me link to her computer from mine giving me control over her computer via internet. I think it would be worth it to both of us, but I am doing some more research to be certain.

~ Does anyone have any option on Boulevard? ~

Snow Day

I have been driving by the park for days waiting for the weather to be warm enough to take Elizabeth to play.

She just loves the snow. By the time we left her hands and nose were bright red.

She has also found out that throwing her ball in the kitchen is really fun because it is small with nowhere for the ball to go but back at her!

Master Bedroom

I was never very happy with the original layout of the room. I kept telling myself well we are renting and it won't be very long so why go through the trouble, well we have lived here for 3 1/2 years now!!!

So on New Years day we were snowed in and I got board :)

I relax in a whole new way with the feel the room now has.

There is still work to do, particularly the window covers, new bed spread and adding some paint.

But for now the change makes the room so cozy and inviting, where as before it was a room with a bed but not really a "bedroom", if ya know what I mean.

We bought the lamp set from Lowes at a 50% discount, which was wonderful . It is a four piece set, but we put the large standing lamp in the living room. I never really thought about how much the lighting makes but oh my it really does!

I love the soft light.

When Alone

On the days that Mario goes to school at night after working during the day, I find my good eating intentions going astray. Instead of making complete healthy meals with proteins and vegs I discover to my horror combinations like: PBJ and Rootbeer for lunch, Pineapple and Nutella for dunch and hunger but no desire to eat for dinner :( This is often combined with wondering around the house looking at things that should be done but... I don't want to do them.

I straighten up the living room for the fifth time today only to see Elizabeth coming into the living room with her diaper basket and unloading it in the middle of the room and climbing into it to go off on what I imagine is a sailing journey to find little Nemo who was taken away to Sidney by Americans! (well so says the movie that is playing for the third time today.

Some days I am really great, I clean out the scary closets and drawers, fix healthy meals (even when no one is looking), have toddler Elizabeth clean in matching clothes, the landary is all hanging up without wrinkles because I took them out of the dryer when the buzzer when off the first time!, the house is sparkling clean with no dust or little finger prints on the glass patio door, the cats nails are trimmed, and pipping hot dinning is waiting on the table in candle light when Mario comes through the door. But today is not that day...
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it.

Grandpa Wayne, Dad, Mario and I went to the Rendezvous at the Royal Gorge. It was a perfect day and we had a lot of fun.There was black powder rifles, shotting contest, children's watermelon eating contests (were the children were given a ROUND slice of the watermelon and had to eat it without braking the rim and not allowed to use anything but there teeth! It was so funny and so messy,

The wooden spoons you see me threating my dad with are the "awards" I won for second place in the ROLLING PAN THROWING competition... yes the rolling pan throwing competition. There was also and frying pan throwing competition but I did not compete.

Most of the fokes were dressed in time period clothing. They had stores (the tents in the background) where one could purchase clothing, fire arms and all kinds of goodies!

Yesterday, I was the makeup artist at a wedding for the 4th time.

It is so delightful to see the brides and all of the activity right before the wedding.

Yesterday's wedding was the best one, the brides name was Heather and she was gorgeous and so sweet.

She had everything under control and organized (which made me happy), but what stood out was her sweet temper and the love that was between her and all of her bridesmaids, photographer, cousins, mom and new mom in law, everyone in the room. Her choice for decor was also beautiful, she went with a very autumn look. Her bridesmaid were wearing a smooth brown and the flower girl had autumn leaves in her hair and it was all so... wonderful!

All of our Bacon family went up and hiked Green Horn . Growing up it was a family tradition, I know I have been up Green Horn at least 15 times if not 20. It was a beautiful day and everyone made it all the way to the top!

Yesterday, I made my first loaf of bread in years. Mario has been wanting me to make bread for months but we were trying to be gluten free, well that is not going so well. So if we are going to be eating bread any ways I decided to make some delicious home made bread!

I used an old fashion white bread recipe and it turned out nicely, looking much like the one in the picture above. It has a nice taste but I was hoping for something more like the one in the picture below :)

We have almost finished the loaf. I will be reading some more to see what I can do to achieve my goal. I am making only one loaf at a time so that I can improve more quickly (different technics each time). I would love to know everyones favorite recipes!

Mom and me

Which is just so sweet of her for it is an hour and a half drive from Beulah to my home is Colorado Springs. Well, I had a couple appointment reschedule so now we are going to have some wonderful time to spend together! I love my mom so much. I have been so blessed by her.

School Days

As I see the stores fill up with all the wonderful supplies for the new school year my heart aches within me. I have always loved the beginning of a new school year. I am reminded of the movie "You've Got Mail" with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks and there is this part where he says "I love Fall it makes me want to buy school supplies, if i knew your name and address I would send you a bouquet of newly sharped pencils!" I love that.

Is there anything so wonderful as the smell of unopened books?

While I have never once ridden on a school bus, I have such fond memories of them. The bright color of them going rushing by our drive way filled with kids as I would sit at our kitchen table bringing my second cup of coffee getting ready to start a new day filled with learning and joy.

Some of my fondest memories of school include going over to the Phelps house as we co-home schooled through high school. Sitting in the Library with those large blue winged chars drinking English style tea as we would have our hour of reading time! And oh how fun to study History and the spelling tests which Heather or Elizabeth would always win! Sitting on the couch watching those big beautiful storms rolling over the rocky mountains, with the laughter of friends and family in the background as we relax for lunch time and play our card games.

A Warm Summer Day

It is a wonderful warm summer day outside. It call to be enjoyed as only warm summer days can.

I have been working on my Mary Kay for the whole of the morning and midday. Mario has been getting in some needed sleep. They have been working him hard at his job, but he really does like the work so its okay. It is about time for me to get him up so he will still be able to sleep tonight, but I do hate to wake him when he looks so comfy. Elizabeth is about ready for her second nap and I have a Mary Kay Party to host within the hour! I pray all is going exceptionally great for my beloved family and friends.

A rainy day

It is a beautiful rainy day outside. Two hours ago I took Elizabeth to the park and swan her in one of those baby swings and then strolled her along the path around the park several times.There were beautiful red robins singing there little hearts out and the bring new green grass was shutting up from the earth all around! We walked until the lighting was too bright, the thunder threateningly to close and and sheet of rain up the mountain had moved down to far, so we headed to the car and as I was loading up the stroller the rain reached us! I was so thankful that we made it to the car in time as the rain was coming down hard. We out ran the rain on the way home and was able to get inside without being soaked. A few minutes later the rain arrived, what a cozy day!

Sunny day

It is a beautiful sunny day outside. It looks warm and "walking" weather, until I put my head out the door and am hit by a cool breeze that makes me quickly turn and shut the door. =( Oh well it is lovely to look at! Today Elizabeth and I are staying home recovering. I had what I thought was food poisoning but now it turn out I think it might be the stomach flu for sweet Elizabeth is throwing up and is very sick. It is so very hard to see ones precious one so ill. Thankfully though she has been able to drink some juice and eat a couple of cheerios. I am so thankful that I am able to stay home with her. I feel so bad for the mothers who have to leave their little ones.

My mom came up from Beulah yesterday and we had a wonderful time. We went to Focus on the Family and we had a great time looking around their book store and mom bought me Dr. James Dobson's new book "Bringing Up Girls" I'm so excited to read it. We took Elizabeth to the children's center "Odessy" and she really enjoyed playing in the area that was designed for 0-5 years. Everything is padded or soft in nature. She did not want to stop sliding down the log bridge! I am so blessed and refreshed whenever my mom comes to visit!

Mary Kay

Sorry it has been so long since I blogged. I have been very busy but I miss blogging with you and keeping up. I have started up my Mary Kay business again and it has been great. I has cut my JOB hours and now only work on Sundays. I plan on quiting completely by the end of April. Mary Kay will be not only able to cover my income from my JOB but be able to double it easily. Well, simply not easily. I have to do is hold 3 parties per wk and that will double my current income. The business plan that Mary Kay put together is very simple, the trick is it is like dieting and exercising, there is no question if it will work, just have to do it! I am not only going to do it, I am already doing it!!!
I have been looking, researching, and praying for a career that would allow me to stay at home with Elizabeth and be able to home school her, be home when Mario is home and take the same vacation times. I wanted a career that could not only supplement Mario's income, but also we could start paying off our debt early and saving up for our house, if necessary it could help care us through times when Mario's job cannot give him the hours we need. From everything that I have found Mary Kay is that career!
I am so very excited, I have been working my Mary Kay two to four hours every day except for Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Now I can work on Saturday mornings and have the evening with my family. By May I will have Sundays with my family too! It will be so wonderful to go to church on Sundays, I've missed it so much. If you could pray for me that this works out. I am pretty optimistic about it!

St. Patrick's Parade

Mario is marching in the St. Patrick's Day Parade today. He marches with his Union Local #9. It is 7:30 and he is over there preparing the float and later in the day Elizabeth and I will join him. First we are going to celebrate with my Mary Kay Director Elaine, because the car the she has earned through Mary Kay is ready for her to pick up! So are unit is meeting together with her to celebrate all of her hard work.

Back to the parade, Last year when we went Elizabeth was only 6 weeks old! My goodness that does seem a long time ago and its only been a year! The parade is really fun and the day is perfect for it, very lovely outside!

Fluidity Bar some time later...

I am very excited, I have kept up with doing my work out four days of the week. I baby sit in the morning from 5:45 to 8 am, on Monday thur Thurday. I find that I do not consistanly exercize when Elizabeth is up so what I decided to do was: do it first thing before ANYONE else was up. So I have been getting up at 5:15 to workout. I am doing only half of the viedo since I still need to build up, but I have been doing it consistanly and married it with taking my vitamins and keeping a food journal daily, I have been able to get rid of 6 lbs! I also feel so much better, being able to pracitce self control, will power and self disaplain helps me respect myself more and therefore have more confidence and joy. Oh hurra!!! for the little "big" success and joys in life!

Fluidity again

1st Birthday

We will be celebrating Elizabeth's 1st Birthday on March 7th Sunday. Her acual birthday is the 8th but we need to work the party around everyone elses jobs. We are still deciding what to do, she is so young that she will not really be old enough to understand, it is really for all of the family! I was thinking of her party because I asked my boss for the day off from work since it fell on a weekend.

Baby Steps

Elizabeth took her first step today all by herself!! It was wonderful because Mario and I both got to see it. She was leaning on our coffee table playing while I came in the door and I went to her with my arms out stretched and she took a step toward me without holding on the table at all!!! She prombtly fell into my arms. She was all excited in her new found "trick." It makes me think of God and how he celebrates in all of our tiny baby steps and how the angels sing praises! That God knows we are not "adults" but little children and how strong his love must be for us!

Two days ago I made Banana Bread one with Chocolate Chip one without. And finding that just the three of us in two days I decided to make Zucchini Chocolate Chip Bread. I made one large one and three personal size ones. We all had loved the Chocolate Chips in the Banana so I put them in all of the Zucchini, lots of them! ha ha ha, I love chocolate : )

I decided to make sleepy time tea to go with it since the bread is rather rich, and because I also always drink milk with this kind of bread.

Standing all by myself!

Baby Elizabeth has started standing all by herself; only for a split second or two but it she has defintally started! She will be leaning against Mario or I while we lay on the ground playing with her and then she will push off and balance out there in the air with her arms out at her sides! And when I go to pick her up while I am standing, she will climb up my leg and then let go of my leg before my hands have reached her and she will stand there with her hands pointing up to me. It is so amazing to see her learning to grow in these "new" skills! What a work of art is man.

Mario and I celebrated our Valentines last Tuesday because that was when my mom and dad could watch Elizabeth for us! And I had to work on the 14th. We decided to stay home to celebrate. We went shopping for dinner then came home to cook and enjoy our second Valentines together!

Did I menchen that this was the first year that I did not use the EZ form for taxes? Mary Kay entered my life in 2009. While is did help with taxes, I paid a price for it in headache, frustration,,, and my poor Mario had to put up with me... poor man.

Nursing

While Mario is not as bad as he has been, I've only seen him this sick once before. Mario does not show pain or discomfort if he can help it at all. So to see such pain and discomfort showing through, tears my heart up. He has hardly left his bed except when I sujest he move around or shower to feel better. Praise God Elizabeth is doing very well. I am feeling the strain, but doing fine... Please keep Mario in your prayers. Thankfully Mario's boss is being very understanding. Sometimes I am ashamed of my desire to give Baby Elizabeth to some family member for a couple of days so I can sleep and read without her to keep me so busy.

My sick baby

No, no not Baby Elizabeth, my poor husband has been down with influinsa and pink eye for several days now. We have kept him in quoriten and thankfully he has been able to get lots of rest. I feel so sorry for him. The pink came on last night and it has been a chore for him to try not to spread it to Baby Elizabeth. Thankfully she and I are doing very well.

Baby Feedings

Now that Elizabeth is about 50 50 on nursing as a source of food (vs. comfort) to soild food the challenge has been to find food that she will eat. And as of a couple weeks ago the little "baby food" (a bottle of mushed up carrots and such) she would eat, is not exceptible to her any more! So comands her magisty!!! So, the challenge lays in what will her highness eat, for I was really begaining to worry for in 3 1/2 months all she did "gaining weight" was to lose 3oz =( Yeah it worried me on a deep core of motherhood area in myself. Anywho, we have found out what the problem was... she does not like tastless food any more then you or I; she wanted what Da Da and Ma Ma were having! Now she is eating away at "real" turkey, chicken, beef, pinneapple, oragnges, rites crackers, cheerios, puffs graduates, bread with butter, veg/fruit juice (only it served in a little cup, sips at a time) and any thing that mom and dad are having for a meal, save eggs, nuts, strawberries and other comman allergines.

The best way I found to keep her little belly full is to have serving of several foods all cut up in a divided plate in the friedge with plastic wrap on it to serve the princess anytime I think I can get her to eat. This is working very well, and then she had cheerios on hand most of the time. Although 70% of those are ground into the carpet on a daily basis! Thank goodness for light weight vaccums!

The good news is she has gained 7 onces in 2 weeks!! Thank you Lord.

A Great Book

I have just started this book today, now on page 29 and I am loving it. The under title is A Guide to the Classical Education You Never Had. Talking about the skill of learning to learn, and how many do not have this skill and how to develope it.
I would highly recommend reading this book to anyone that wants to read the GREAT BOOKS but has either had a hard or difficult time in doing so. Susan, talks about the different levels of reading: taste, swallow, digest or if you like: grammer, logic, rhetorc.

The Well-Educated Mind reassures those readers who worry that they read too slowly or with below-average comprehension. If you can understand a daily newspaper, there’s no reason you can’t read and enjoy Shakespeare’s Sonnets or Jane Eyre. But no one should attempt to read the “Great Books” without a guide and a plan. I have always loved the Great Books, and I love how many of the Great men of our history, such as Benjamin Franklin decided it would benifit him to learn, so he borrowed books from a friend (back when ALL books were raer and expensive) in the evening, read them by night as to teach himself, while he worked for his brother and at building his own business by day!... somehow I tie teaching oneself by reading and Benjamin Franklin very closely. = p

Anyway, I would highly recommend this book!

Dave Ramsey...again...

I have just finished regoing through Dave Ramsey's Financail Peace University and rereading his book Total Money Makeover for the umptinth time! For a women who has grown up with Larry Berkett and Dave Ramsey's ideas I have not done so good with the money that has come through my hands, I am ashamed to say. But no more! I am truely sick and tired of being sick and tired and broke!!! Now life has hit Mario and I with some totally unforseen curves expecially these last 5 months, but it we had been wise with our money before hand, it would not all have been so hard and scarry now. God has really "been there for us" and I know He always will, but he also gives us free will which can also mean reaping what we sow. I am very excited about getting back on budget and following a plan that I know will work.

I decided that I would work on preparing our taxes today and then...

Mary Kay has not posted our tax sales and won't until the 30th

I could not find which form to start filling out

I could not remember my old email to gain assest to my 2008 tax forms

I start to panic because I have never filled out a self emplyment

I am over whelmed by the challenge of calculating our business expenses

and and and

so I ~~had a could herseys kisses and~~ hugged on my baby, and took a deep breath.

It will not be to bad doing taxes and I uselly look forward to it, but with the whole "mary kay self emplyment" is a bit dontting to me. I am disappointed that I have to wait until February to start. I love the feeling of finishing taxes it is much like turning in an exam for school that you know you aced!

As you can see this is not a picture of Elilzabeth, but this is what Elizabeth has. Oddly enough the rash is a relief to see (though it stopped my heart when I first laid eye on my baby's belly this morning). The rash is the follower of a very high fever, Elizabeth's fever went all the way to 104 F. We had gone to the dr. but since she had no other symtems they sent her home. The rash could last for several weeks although she should be good unless, her fever returns, joint pain or ichyness comes along. We are very thankful it was nothing worse.

Elizabeth has four teeth on top and two on the bottom. She really enjoys showing them off as seen here. When she is really happy she crans out her neck a little and her smile gets so big her eyes squint!!

She is really enjoying the new car her Grams gave her for Chirstmas. It also flips up into a walker which Elizabeth loves but needs close watching when she uses it that was for she can "roll" her car!

I was shopping at Hobby Lobby and I came across some Chirstmas Wrappingpaper 50% off and I thought the paper looked lovely and not at all like Christmas, but more Valentine's Day if anything. Well, I bought it although not for regular purpuses. I had been looking for pretty cabnet linning and finding none until now! It is working out beautifully, if I do say so myself.

It has added so much to our little home. It fills me with joy just to look at it. I do love the small joys in life!

So far I have only done these two cabnets because I have been deep cleaning as I go along. I am looking forward to finishing all the other cabnets!

P.S. These are the beuatiful and wonderful new pots and pans that Mario gave me for Chirstmas. My other ones were rather bad and these shiny new ones are such a delight to use. I was already enjoying cooking, now the joy is so much more!!! Thank you Honey!

I went to YouTub and found Nigella's Fudge video and la da! This was the first time I have ever made fudge. I did not have a foil pan so I simply placed foil in my pan it make it eazy to remove and it worked like a charm! I made some with walmuts although the majority of the batch was plain. They were very yummy and I shared them with family and neighbors!

Peek a Boo

This morning Elizabeth started playing Peek a Boo with a towl and me. This is the first time that she started all by herself. She got really into it, using both hands she would pull the towl over her head and then ripping it off very fast and gigling and squealing with delight when I would say Boo! She got more and more excited as we went. It is so sweet and it fills me with wonder to see her grow and learn. For we are: fearfully and wonderfully made!

Date Night

Back in November Mario and I had a spontanius Date Night. Between Sarah, Waunetta and Heather we were able to have Elizabeth watched for us long enough to have some private time. We were going to go to Lake Isabel to camp but it was way to windy and cold. So we decided to stay at a little hotle near by.

The little hotle was so wonderful, nothing fansy but oh so wonderful. It was the FIRST time that we had alone time since our honey moon!!!! That is way to long. I had made myself a promise when I was still babysitting years ago that me and my husband would had a date night at least once a month. A dinner, a movie, a hike, something, sometime alone. It took me and Mario eight months to start our date nights.

I think one of the things that made this little hotle so enjoyable is that I did not expect much. It was not our first plan and when we did go to it, the exterior is not impressive but oh the room was so cozy with the storm building outside, and we inside with our coffee, couch and each other...

Savory Spice Shop

Mario did the duct work on this store before it opened and he told me about it. So I have been waiting for it to open up. They have many books on spices, all which look very helpful and useful.

I went to it this afternoon. It is simply amazing, delicious, cozy and makes me want to cook everything!!! They have over 200 spices/herbs/combonations in the store (if I remember right). The employees are so freindly and helpful. Making everyone feel welcome to the store.

The spices are sold in bulk, or you can purches them prebottled. Most of the spices have a small bottle beside them which is a tester bottle, and you are welcome to smell and taste the spices! Whatever product is left over onyour hand after sampling it you are to simply dust it off on to the floor! It was a delightful experices and I would recomend it to everyone.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

We decided to go for a small tree that we could get out of Elizabeth's way. Between ordiments, lights, needles, sugar water, and possible tipping over the tree we thought the risk was to "high" !!!! This is the smallest tree I have ever had since I was to little to remember. But the year before last, I bough a live tree that was only five feet high. I did really like having a live tree, but I almost killed it while waiting for the ground to defrost enough to plant it!!!

Briargate and Manitou Springs

We all went to Briargate to see Santa and do some Christmas window shopping. In the sunlight is it was very nice, then is the split of a second it took to get in the shade I think the temp dropped 10 degrees! They had every thing decorated very nicely for the season.

Then we all drove down to the Chapel Hills mall to do some more widow shopping and then to Manitou Springs. Manitou was all dect out! I should have brought more warm clothes for all of us, but I did not think we would be out that long. From now on I have extra warm things in the car for us all.

Believe it or not, Elizabeth loved this ride. it went back and forth with a little up and down. At first we thought she might be afraid of it. But oh conterar, She wanted it to go again when the quater ran out!

Grandpa, Dad and Mario were looking at gun magazing the whole time. Grandpa has built a powder gun and when hunting with it. Dad and Mario want to build and hunt with thiers as well.

Elizabeth has entered the Mommy and Daddy only phase =( !!!!!

Grandma always make the most outstanding meals! This year I brought the sweet yams, Mom the pies and Lorretta brought a cranberries salad!

I always love stealing a piece of turkey when Grandpa is carving it!

We had a delightful time with our Bacon family for Thanksgiving.Grandma and Grandpa Bacon, Mom and Dad, Sarah and Nick, Loretta (Grandpa's oldest sister), Mario, Elizabeth and Myself were all there for Lunch, Heather, Scott, Adam and Seth came a couple hours later after their Fitzsimmon's Thanksgiving.

Baby Elizabeth has learned to climb up, on funiture, crib, toys and even on Mom and Dad!

We had to lower her clib bed so that she would not flip out of the crib when she pulled up.

The look on her face when she sucessfully pulls all the way up is so persious! You can tell by the look not only how joyful she is but also her pride in sucesseding.

Every year I plan on having all my Christmas shopping done by December 1st. This year I think I will achieve that goal. I am planning on having our Christmas cards written and sent by then as well. We are celebrating our Trujillo Thanksgiving today. Mario's oldest brother will not be avalible on Thanksgiving day so we get to eat turkey today! Instead of anyone having to cook it all up, the family decided to go out to eat at the Sunbird. Mario and I have been meaning to go out to eat there for a year now so it will be nice to check it out. Elizabeth is sitting up by herself for some time now so she will be able to have her own highchair!! Waunetta bought her a really pretty white dress for today, I hope it makes it though the day, I have a feeling that I will be using bleach and spray and wash on it!

For our Bacon Thanksgiving, we are all going to my Grandparent's house in Pueblo. My Grandma will be making our tradional meal, I get to bring the Candy Yams. I can hardly believe my Grandma is still willing to cooking that large meal. She is amazing! Last year I asked her for all of her reciepts so that I can make the Thanksgiving meal in the future.

Pork, Peppers, and Pasta!

I wanted to make something with pork in it and I remembered that we had noodles, so I typed the two together on google and after searching thruogh different options. I landed with this. It sounded very good, we shall see...

Ingredients

■2 Boneless Pork Chops

■2 Servings of Spaghetti

■1 Tbsp. Olive Oil

■1/2 Red Pepper (Sliced)

■1/2 Orange Pepper (Sliced)

■1/2 Yellow Pepper (Sliced)

■2 Garlic Cloves (Minced)

■1 Cup Mushrooms (Chopped)

■2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

■1 Tbsp. Soy Sauce

■1 Tsp. Rosemary

■1/2 Tsp. Red Pepper Flakes

■1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice

Chirstmas is coming....

Taking about Christmas... I was just in the dollar store and they are packed out with Christmas stuff. At first I was apoled at the marketing of Chirstmas so early and then I realized that the selection was great and of cource a good deal so I started looking and I found some delightful decorations that I simply love! My favoraite is three red stars. I plan on hanging then above the computer. Our wall are so high that it takes some planing to make it look porportiontaly correct. The other main thing I loved was the bells, I adore Chirstmas bell. Thankfully so does Mario!!!

Mario, Elizabeth, and myself with be hosting Christmas this year for Mario's side of the family. So that means having 14 people in our house! Six of which will be children under the age of 13!! It will be crazy but it should be a blast and I want to creat more memories in our little home! I will write more on this later.

Meatloaf

I made meatloaf for Mario tonight. He was talking about wanting some. I have not made a meatloaf since I was 10 or so. Henseforth, I cannot remeber exactally how my mom made it. So I looked up some reciepts online, and did a mixure that sounded good to me. I put Ground beef, oatmeal, egg, onion, red bell pepper, carrot shreds, wosi sause, milk and salt and pepper. I do not know how it will turn out yet as I am waiting to cook it until Mario's calls to say he's coming home.

Trying a new food

Last night Mario and I tried artichoke for the first time. I looked up the directions for cooking and eating on online. It took longer then I thought it would to stream it. We used liquid butter as a dip instead of a sause. It was very good. It is amazing how many pieces there are in one artichoke. It took a long time (relitive to size) to eat it, as you only get a little meat in each piece. I think it is a good snack, for you can eat and eat and never get to many caleries! Save for the butter ;)

Rampart Reservoir

I took my dad up to Rampart Reservior, it was so beautiful, again! We walked around part of the reservior, it was very windy. Poor little Elizabeth had to stay wraped up in her blanket and even then we had to go back to the car before to long because she was getting cold. She thought the the pine tree needles were quite fasinating. She really wanted to gum them!

It has been really awsome to spend so much time with my dad, we have been having some of his lunchs together, all though for this trip he took an early day. I have been able to spend more quality time with my dad, now living in Colorado Springs then I have in a long time. It is such an unforseen blessing.

On September 7th we went to the Hotair Balloons in Memorial Park. It was a beautiful day. We had a wonderful stroll around the park. It is amazing how any people come out to see them take off. Elizabeth really enjoyed the big moose!

Pirates of the Caribbean

Mario and I have recently started playing Pirates of the Caribbean's Disaney game via live online. It is really fun. I have to be careful not to spend to much time on it though for it is very addictive! Surprisingly, it is a hug blessing when I am having to let Baby Elizabeth cry it out, wether it be morning evening or 2am in the morning, I can still hear her voice on th monitor to make sure she is alright, but my mind can really fouce on the game so I do not get so stressed about it. Mario was the one who thought it would help me and it truely has!

God' Grace

As I am entering a new leg on my journey of life, I decided to start a different blog. I named the blog as a testament to the grace God has given me and the peace and protection He has granted me. My life changed beyond my imaging in less then a year and it left me feeling alone and scared. Instead of turning completly Him for guidance and everything, I tried to make it on my own. Feeling that I should be able to handle what was going on, on my own. Big mistake, what should have been the most delightful time of my life, as of yet!, turned into the most trying, overwhelming, difficult, alone, aggrivating, embaressing, sad, and scary time I have ever known. But God's grace was always surrounding me, with blessing me in my family, friends and ways hard to explain and ways that I still do not know. The verse Psalm 91 is a cry of my heart. And it is my endever to lie down my life, with all its worries, concerns and expectations to my God. To live, to Him, for Him and in His Grace as He gives me the strength to become the women, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, coworker, and "stranger" that he has made me to be.
